Connecting & Activating Vermont Communities

Getting Solar Started

More and More Vermonters and Vermont communities are going solar because it allows them to meet or beat their electric bills. In the process, they become energy independent, stabilize and better predict their energy expenses, support local jobs and the state’s economy and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

There are many types of “community solar” solutions and not all solar is created equal in Vermont at this point.* There is also no “one-size-fits-all” approach.

To help people and communities explore solar options and issues, VNRC has been working with many partners to put together this growing compendium of resources. The goal is to help all who are interested in solar begin exploring their best options and advance solar swiftly and thoughtfully.
