Solar Campaigns
Creative community campaigns targeted at motivating individuals and businesses to go solar on their own homes, buildings or land have achieved real success in Vermont. Two powerful examples include:
Waterbury/Duxbury’s “Solar Year” Challenge. Read more about this successful community initiative that, under the leadership of the local energy committee — Waterbury LEAP — doubled the amount of residential solar in less than a year… and then doubled it again. Read a case study, which offers tips for how you might replicate this inspiring success here.
Solarize Upper Valley. This Upper Valley-focused campaign is aimed at making residential and small business solar photovoltaic (PV) energy more accessible across the region. By teaming up with communities and solar installers, SUV aims to drive down the cost of solar (by a tiered pricing system, so the more residents in a town participate, the better the deal) and deploy as much solar as possible in the region.
