Climate Progress? A Mid-Session Legislative Update
In the fourth installment of VECAN’s 2022 workshop series, Climate Progress? A Mid-Session Legislative Update we heard from members of the ActOnClimateVT Coalition about what’s happening in the 2022 legislative session to advance clean energy and climate progress. This workshop was co-hosted with the ActOnClimateVT Coalition and Vermont Conservation Voters (VCV).

During the workshop, we heard from members of the Act on Climate VT coalition, including Conservation Law Foundation, the Vermont Chapter of the Sierra Club, Vermont Public Interest Research Group, and the Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC). Speakers shared an overview of some key bills moving through the legislature this session that aim to advance clean energy and climate progress, an update on where these bills stand, and what this all could mean for climate progress at the state and local levels. More information on all of the bills discussed can be found using the following links:

If you’re interested in staying engaged with these bills as they move through the legislature this session, you can tune into VNRC and VCV’s Climate Dispatch for key updates from the statehouse every Friday. You can also tune in every other Thursday on YouTube, live at noon or for a recording afterwards, to hear updates on climate action legislation from the Climate Solutions Caucus, a broad coalition of Vermont legislators dedicated to advancing cost-effective and equitable energy policies to transition our state to a sustainable future.
