GreenSavingSmart – An Overview of the New Statewide Financial & Energy Coaching Program
In the fifth installment of VECAN’s 2022 workshop series, GreenSavingSmart – An Overview of the New Statewide Financial & Energy Coaching Program, we heard from Capstone Community Action staff about this new financial and energy coaching initiative administered by Vermont’s five community action agencies.
Find the presentation slides here and a copy of the chat from the workshop here.
GreenSavingSmart’s five Financial & Energy Coaching Specialists work one-on-one with low- and moderate-income Vermonters to increase their financial wellbeing to maximize savings opportunities and reduce their carbon footprint. One of the important services the coaches offer is helping individuals navigate the many resources, programs, and financial incentives available in the state to transition away from fossil fuels.
GreenSavingSmart will begin accepting eligibility applications on Monday, March 7th, and they need your help spreading the word in your communities!
Here are some ways you can help connect people in your communities with the services GreenSavingSmart offers:
1) Post about the program on Front Porch Forum – Find suggested language here.
2) Direct community members to GreenSavingSmart’s website.
3) Encourage community members to directly contact their Community Action Agency to be connected with a coach – Find contact information for each agency here.
4) Reach out to organizations and partners in your community that work with low- and moderate-income, BIPOC or New American individuals to encourage them to promote this program to their members.
If you have any further questions about the program or how you can help get the word out, you can reach out to the Financial & Energy Coaching Statewide Team Lead, Kelsey Gibb at [email protected].
