Connecting & Activating Vermont Communities

The Results Are In! A Post-Survey Session for Energy Committees to Learn, Connect and Collaborate

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the sixth installment of VECAN’s 2022 workshop series: The Results Are In! A Post-Survey Session for Energy Committees to Learn, Connect and Collaborate.

Click here to view a recording of the workshop and find a copy of the chat from the workshop here.

The workshop was packed full of information, resources and great conversation. We heard a presentation on the high-level results from VECAN’s 2022 survey of energy committees, including successes, challenges, and priorities for the year ahead.

Katie Buckley, Director of the ARPA Coordination & Assistance Program at Vermont League of Cities and Towns, gave a presentation with guidance tailored to energy committees interested in helping their communities make strategic energy investments using ARPA funding. All ARPA related questions from the chat that weren’t answered live are now answered in writing from VLCT, you can find the Q&A here.

Ann Janda, Senior Energy Planner at Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, gave a presentation on tips and recommendations for working with municipalities to support strategic investments in cost-saving and fossil fuel-reducing projects. Efficiency Vermont is offering free energy consultations for towns and municipalities.

For more information, you can also check out our Municipal Energy Resources page, which includes many of these resources, as well as a draft memo for reaching out to your Selectboard about strategic energy investments and a draft Municipal Energy Action Planning tool from VECAN.
